Trump files amicus brief to stop Biden from selling border wall construction materials
Texas GOP Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said earlier this month he want to buy border-construction material being auctioned by the Department of Homeland and give it to Trump.
President-elect Donald Trump filed an amicus brief late Thursday to stop the Biden administration from selling parts of the border wall.
Trump filed the brief in support of Texas and Missouri, which filed motions to have a conference to evaluate what the administration is doing with the border wall materials.
“The outgoing Biden Administration’s reported ‘fire sales’ of border-wall materials to private parties raise grave concerns about the legality of Defendants’ conduct and their compliance with this Court’s permanent injunction in this case,” the amicus brief reads, according to The Daily Wire.
“The Court should order an immediate stop of all such sales and perform a searching examination of the Government’s conduct – by ordering formal discovery if necessary – to ensure compliance with the Constitution, the law, and the Court’s orders," the brief continues.
Texas GOP Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said earlier this month he wanted to buy border-construction material being auctioned by the Department of Homeland Security and give it to Trump.
"Joe Biden is now hauling off the border wall that's been lying down for years and he wants to auction it off starting at five dollars a piece," Patrick told Fox News opinion-show host Laura Ingraham on Thursday. "Message to the White House right now: I will bid on all of that wall and we will buy it in Texas and we will give it to Donald Trump."
