U.S. Marshals arrest pro-Trump lawyer after D.C. hearing

The U.S. Marshals arrested attorney Stefanie Lambert on Monday after a D.C. hearing on sanctions against her.
The Marshals said in a statement that Lambert had been arrested on "local charges," the Associated Press reported. The Michigan attorney was in D.C. as part of a hearing over her leak of emails from Dominion Voting Systems.
Lambert is representing Patrick Byrne, who has funded election oversight efforts, against defamation claims from the group, which came under scrutiny during former President Donald Trump's attempts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results. She obtained the emails in that capacity and was facing potential sanctions for leaking them.
She previously challenged Trump's 2020 loss in the Wolverine State but was unsuccessful.
Dominion featured heavily in media coverage of Trump's election fraud claims and ultimately settled a defamation suit with Fox News last year in which the network agreed to pay out $787.5 million.
