The Virginia Supreme Court will hear oral arguments Monday in a challenge to the redistricting referendum that voters in the state passed on Tuesday. 

While multiple groups of Republicans are filing lawsuits against the referendum, Monday's oral arguments are concerning a challenge from Republican Virginia Senate Minority Leader Ryan McDougle and other Republican officials, according to Roll Call. 

The arguments are expected to come from a variety of disputes regarding the referendum, including the time of the legislature's process to initiate the ballot measure last year and the wording used in the referendum itself. 

On Tuesday night, Virginia voters narrowly passed a referendum that redraws the state's congressional map so that Democrats will have 10 House seats and Republicans will have one. 

A Virginia Circuit Court judge blocked the certification of the referendum in response to a separate challenge brought by the Republican National Committee, National Republican Congressional Committee and Rep. Ben Cline, R-Va.
