An 80-year-old witness in first son Hunter Biden's gun trial testified Thursday that he found Biden's gun while rummaging through the trash.

Several witnesses testified on Thursday, including Hallie Biden who dated Hunter Biden after her husband Beau Biden died. Hallie Biden told the court that she had thrown away the gun, which Hunter Biden had allegedly purchased illegally by not disclosing that he was a drug addict.

Other witnesses included police officer Josh Marley, the 80-year-old man named Edward Banner, and former Delaware state trooper Millard Greer.

Marley testified that he responded to a phone call from Hallie Biden, notifying police that she had thrown away the gun. But when he looked through the trash for the gun, he had not been able to find it.

Banner, who has been collecting recyclables out of trash cans since he retired, said he found the gun in the trash outside of a Delaware grocery store and took it home with him.

“I definitely remember finding that,” Banner said of the silver gun, according to the Washington Post.

Banner denied that he placed the gun inside of a sock in his home, which Greer had testified he had done, but did admit to finding a brown bag with the gun. The bag had white powder on it that tested positive for cocaine. Banner denied that any of his family members ever used cocaine, which Hunter Biden used.

The prosecution is expected to rest its case on Friday, after calling just two more witnesses, and the defense said it expects to rest on Monday. It has not been decided whether Hunter Biden will testify in the case, though defendants rarely testify.

First lady Jill Biden attended the first two days of the trial, but skipped Thursday to fly to Normandy, France, for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. She is expected to fly back to Delaware on Thursday night, to attend the trial on Friday, according to CNN. She will then return to France for the state visit on Saturday.

President Joe Biden has not attended his son's trial.
