DOD civilian workers will have to respond to Musk email asking about what work they got done: report
The memo says that those who don't comply will be subject to further review.
Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth has reversed his stance and has ordered civilian agency employees to respond to the Department of Government Efficiency's Elon Musk's “What You Did Last Week” email.
Hegseth has drafted a memo expected to go out Monday that tells employees they have to send a five-point summation of their accomplishment by end of day, according to The Military Times outlet.
Those who fail to comply will reportedly be subject to "further review," and the individual submissions will reportedly be incorporated into weekly reports by supervisors.
Last month, millions of federal employees received a note from the Office of Personnel Management that requested a list of accomplishments they did at work or risk termination.
This resulted in some departments such as the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security telling employees not to respond to the message.
Recently, the DOD and the Department of Veterans Affairs reversed course and said employees have to participate in the process.
