FBI working to investigate 'violent rhetoric' against Colorado Supreme Court justices

Authorities are investigating threats made to Colorado Supreme Court justices following their decision to boot former President Donald Trump from the ballot in 2024.
“The FBI is aware of the situation and working with local law enforcement,” FBI spokesperson Vikki Migoya said in a statement to multiple outlets, according to USA Today.
“We will vigorously pursue investigations of any threat or use of violence committed by someone who uses extremist views to justify their actions regardless of motivation," she continued.
NBC News reported last week that online threats against the justices skyrocketed right after the decision was announced.
Some of the threats included specific ways on how online users wanted the judges to be killed.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled last week that Trump engaged in an insurrection in the form of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, and is therefore ineligible to appear on the ballot for the 2024 election.
Trump's campaign team has vowed to appeal the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung declared he has full confidence the higher court would rule in favor of the former president.
