FBI provides clip of Kash Patel at Liberty U event, disputing MS NOW report placing him in Russia
MS Now reporter Ken Dilanian said FBI Director Kash Patel's trip was part of a two-day trip that included stops in St. Petersburg and Moscow, but Patel was in Virginia, the FBI said.
The FBI posted a clip Wednesday of Director Kas Patel at Liberty U as part of a law enforcement appreciation event.
The clip was in response to a report from MS Now reporter Ken Dilanian who claimed that "two people familiar with the matter" informed the outlet that Patel had landed in Russia for a meeting.
“We don’t know what Kash Patel is doing in Russia. And that’s one of the things that’s concerning our FBI sources — they don’t know either,” Dilanian said.
Dilanian said that he'd reached out to the FBI for comment, but the agency hadn't yet responded. He said Patel's trip was part of a two-day trip that included stops in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Shortly after the report aired, the FBI posted on X the segment juxtaposed to a clip of Patel at Liberty U in Lynchburg, Virginia.
"Here’s where Kash Patel actually is … Liberty U, doing a law enforcement appreciation event," the FBI said.
