A report from the Government Accountability Office claims that the Pentagon doesn't have clear standards or rules when it comes to tracking military aid sent to Ukraine amid its war with Russia.

The GAO announced in its report to Congress that it has taken the Defense Department at times weeks to deliver the supplies and the delivery data often is not accurate.

Over $40 billion in security assistance has been sent to Ukraine since the start of its war with Russia began in 2022.

“[The Defense Department] modified its monitoring approach during the ongoing conflict but has not assessed whether it sufficiently guards against equipment loss or misuse,” the report reads.

The GAO said it had offered guidance to the Pentagon in order to make sure it tracks aid accurately.
