Keith Sonderling sworn in as new Labor Secretary
Sonderling previously served as the acting and deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division in the first Trump administration.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent swore Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling into his post Friday in a ceremony in the Oval Office of the White House.
Sonderling, who was deputy secretary of Labor, replaced former Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer in the interim in April after she stepped down from her post for a job in the private sector and was confirmed by the Senate late last month.
"I am deeply honored and grateful to President Donald Trump for the opportunity to serve as the 31st United States Secretary of Labor," Sonderling said in a post on X. "It is the privilege of a lifetime to serve American workers and Job Creators, the best anywhere in the world and I’ll continue fighting for them on behalf of [the president] every day."
Sonderling previously served as the acting and deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division in the first Trump administration.
