American held hostage by Taliban released, headed back to US

An American abducted and held hostage by the Taliban for more than two years in Afghanistan was released Thursday. 

George Glezmann was taken by the Taliban in 2022 while traveling through the Middle East as a tourist. 

He is the third hostage to be released by the Taliban since January.

His release was negotiated by U.S. and Qatari negotiators, a source told Just the News.

Glezmann is being accompanied back to the U.S. by Adam Boehler who is in charge of hostage negotiations under the Trump administration.
