Sebastian Gorka hits back at Biden attempt to boot him from Pentagon board
Gorka was appointed to the Pentagon Security Education Board in July of 2020 by former President Donald Trump.
Former Trump advisor Sebastian Gorka on Monday indicated that he would fight the Biden administration's attempt to remove him from a Pentagon advisory board, contending that his appointment entitles him to a four-year term.
Gorka was appointed to the Pentagon Security Education Board in July of 2020 by former President Donald Trump. The Biden administration last week, informed Gorka that it sought his resignation from the post.
"[T]he shocking thing that I have a four-year term. I was put in by President Trump in July before he left the White House," Gorka said on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show. "And it's so weird that I received a letter on Friday, demanding my resignation from the Pentagon National Security Education Board, otherwise I would be terminated by close of business, to which I replied, 'I reject your illicit demand because you can't fire me before the end of my tenure as a presidential appointee.'"
"And the other thing is a little bit weird, John," he contended. "The letter says, 'You do not comply with the values of this administration,' which is it's going to get framed, okay? I don't comply with the values of the Biden [administration]. That's going up on my living room wall," he continued. "And the fact is, I've been in that position for three and a half years. Did Biden just wake up and realize that I've been there?"
"But it's classic. I mean, as you said, cancel culture, they will even do that, which is illegal, because you'd have to change the legislation, which created the National Security Education Board to get rid of me," he went on.
"I've written a letter back to the head of White House personnel that I am not resigning from it,' he concluded. "You can't do that without stating that sending the stats or changing the statute. So I've said I look forward to the next meeting of the National Security Education Board. And I'll see you there maybe with my counsel sitting next to me."
