The Justice Department's Office of Inspector General announced Friday an investigation of a senior FBI official for allegedly soliciting prostitutes at a foreign national’s massage parlor.

"The OIG investigation substantiated the allegation that the Senior Level Employee had solicited prostitutes on multiple occasions at various massage parlors in the same geographic area, in violation of Department of Justice and FBI policy," the report reads.

The report also states the employee and may have paid for and/or received sexual favors at the massage parlor or other massage parlors in the same geographic area

The office also said the probe found the employee failed to self-report a close relationship with the foreign national, which resulted in the employee having close and continuous contacts with the foreign national, in violation of FBI policy.

The employee being investigated has declined to be interviewed by the office.

The report also states the employee retired from the FBI before being contacted for an interview and that the office does not have the authority to compel or subpoena testimony from former department employees, including those who retire or resign during the course of an OIG investigation.
