Internet raises $130K for harassed Red Baron worker in viral video
Public reactions were overwhelmingly sympathetic to Walt and the GoFundMe quickly circulated on social media, with a number of right-wing political influencers working to amplify it.
A fundraiser for a Red Baron Pizza grocery stocker who was harassed by a streamer in a viral video has surpassed $130,000 in only two days.
"Walt Z" of Michigan was seen in the video, which gained traction after Russian-state-aligned outlet RT amplified it, reacting to a streamer's prank. The streamer can be seen to approach Walt and ask for the time, before pushing his phone near him and claiming to have stolen money from him.
Walt subsequently grew frustrated and told the streamer to leave him alone, though he did not. The rest of the video shows an increasingly frustrated Walt reprimanding the streamer and asserting that he did not need the added stress of his harassment, since he already had to pay off a mortgage and feed a large family.
Public reactions were overwhelmingly sympathetic to Walt and the GoFundMe quickly circulated on social media, with a number of right-wing political influencers working to amplify it.
As of press time, the fundraiser had attracted 4,100 donations and raised $137,003.
