Border Patrol union slams Biden for caring more about ceiling fan energy savings than border
"There will be around 7,000 more illegal aliens crashing the border today and every day," the union wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter.
The National Border Patrol Council slammed President Joe Biden on social media, saying that he cares more about saving energy costs on ceiling fans than the security of the southern border.
"While the Biden Admin misdirects your attention with stupid crap like how they're going to "save" you $39 in energy costs on a ceiling fan that will cost more to manufacture and buy......there will be around 7,000 more illegal aliens crashing the border today and every day," the union wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter.
The Department of Energy is proposing a new rule that it says would reduce air pollution while making ceiling fans more energy efficient in order to save households money on energy costs.
This new rule would save households about $39 over the lifespan of the new energy-efficient fan, according to the Energy Department's analysis. The department added it will cost a total of $86.6 million per year associated with the increased equipment manufacturers will need, according to Fox Business.
Meanwhile, illegal immigration has skyrocketed under President Biden and the border union has accused the president of not doing enough to stop the flood of migrants at the border.
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said that border patrol is lacking resources to get the crisis at the southern border under control, and as a result cartels are able to take advantage of areas where agents have to take on a role of processing people.
"We now have to become detention officers, which we were never supposed to be," Judd told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We have to process these individuals, and when you take Border Patrol agents off the line, when you take them off the border, it creates those artificial gaps for those criminal cartels to control."
