Former Homeland boss schools media, Biden administration for saying border crossings are lower
Chad Wolf said there is a parole system where 30,000 people a month are being flown into the country illegally.
Former Acting Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf slammed the media and the Biden administration for claiming that illegal border crossings have actually gone down.
Last month in an exclusive report from CBS News, it was reported that illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border was at a three year low, according to Customs and Border Protection data.
Despite this report, multiple GOP politicians and former officials have claimed the report was misleading and not giving all the facts.
"The Biden-Harris Administration and legacy media are doing their best to convince you that the number of illegal aliens crossing the border is dropping," Wolf wrote on the social media platform, X. "In doing so, they only talk about a fraction of the illegal aliens encountered at the southern border – specifically those apprehended by Border Patrol between ports of entry. And they are attempting to use the reduction of this selective figure to prove that their policies are working."
Wolf said that monthly illegal crossings still remain at a historic high.
He went on to break down the math on illegal immigrant crossings on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast.
"What they're not telling you is they're also allowing folks to come through ports of entry through that CBP One app, 47,000 in the month of June alone, I believe." he said on the podcast. "There are also gotaways that come across that border that they're not including in that number."
He said there is also a parole system where 30,000 people a month are being flown into the country.
