Former Texas GOP Rep. Mayra Flores says for the first time, she fears for her husband's safety as a Border Patrol agent with Title 42 being lifted in just a few hours.

"I've never been worried about my husband's safety," Flores told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show Wednesday. "I'm now worried about my husband's safety under this administration. I'm constantly checking on my husband and checking on my uncles as well that are Border Patrol agents, and cousins as well."

The Biden administration last week approved the temporary deployment of 1,500 active-duty troops to the country's southern border to assist the U.S. Border Patrol before the expiration of Title 42, which has allowed the U.S. to quickly deport asylum-seekers to contain the spread of COVID.

Title 42 will be lifted May 11.

"This has been the most difficult week of our lives," Flores said. "I've never seen our Border Patrol agents this exhausted and worried."

She added that President Biden is responsible for problems at the southern border but Border Patrol agents are bearing the brunt of the crisis.

"It's just heartbreaking because our Border Patrol agents are paying the price for Joe Biden's failed immigration policies," Flores stated.
