Israel requested Iran deal text but was rebuffed: Report
Senior U.S. Senate leaders are also hoping to acquire a copy of the text for their own review.
Israeli officials reportedly requested a copy of the Iran deal that President Donald Trump negotiated with Tehran, but was refused, according to i24 news Diplomatic Correspondent Guy Azriel.
A separate report from the New York Post included officials stating they were not aware of the document being shared. Trump announced the deal on Sunday, with a formal signing ceremony set for Friday.
The document remains unpublished as of press time and its terms have become the subject of speculation. Trump, for his part, said the deal includes a commitment for free transit through the Strait of Hormuz and a commitment that Iran will not obtain a nuclear weapon.
A potential sticking point has been ceasefire provisions in Lebanon, where Israel and Hezbollah are engaged in fierce fighting. Trump condemned an Israeli strike in the country on Sunday, ahead of the deal announcement.
Senior U.S. Senate leaders are also hoping to acquire a copy of the text for their own review.
Some top Israeli officials, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, have indicated they do not believe they would be bound by a U.S. agreement with Iran and have urged Jerusalem to keep fighting in Lebanon.
