Israel has resumed attacks on Iran after the Islamic Republic briefly flipped the script on Friday and landed several hits on sites in Tel Aviv.

Fighting has been ongoing for roughly a day after Israel launched what it called a "pre-emptive" strike on Iran's nuclear program and senior military leaders. The country has stated the attack was necessary to prevent Iran's cultivation of a nuclear weapon, which Jerusalem deemed an existential threat to its survival.

Thus far, the current volley appears to be a continuation of the missile strikes that began Thursday evening. Russian state media outlet RT captured footage of Iranian air defense in Tehran working to shoot down Israeli projectiles.
