North Carolina Republican Rep. Greg Murphy says that China is complicit in sending illegal immigrants across the southern border, causing national security concerns.

"You can't leave China without a visa," Murphy said Tuesday on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "So China is complicit in pushing these people across the border."

According to a report, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has apprehended over 700% more migrants from China at the southern border this fiscal year, compared to fiscal 2022.

Murphy said that a good way to go after China is to stop outsourcing to them and get a border policy that works.

"We actually have to get now a sound southern border policy, which we haven't had now for two years," he said. "And we have to look and say, 'What resources do we have in the United States that we don't have to outsource and get these from China?'"

Murphy said that something to acknowledge was how much China has infiltrated the universities in America.

"They're infiltrated our universities," he stated. "I put out a bill last year to tell colleges and universities to stop their investing in their endowments in China. You'd be amazed at the responses."  He then elaborated that while many colleges agreed with the plan even before the bill was passed, at least one university said they would not stop doing so, since it was not yet illegal.
