War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine are expected to testify in front of the Senate on Tuesday, just a few days after three American service members were killed in the conflict in the Middle East.

The appearance in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to focus on the $80 billion supplemental funding request, which includes $67 billion for the conflict with Iran, but will also address larger plans for the war.

The testimony comes just days after two service members were killed in an attack in Jordan and a third service member was killed detonating an Iranian drone. U.S. forces have also been launching attacks on Iran for 10 days.

The testimony additionally comes a day after the Pentagon confirmed that nearly 100 American troops have been injured in the conflict so far, though the majority were minor wounds and 96% of the troops have returned to duty. 

The Senate hearing will take place at 10 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday in the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is also expected to testify.
