Congressman Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said Wednesday that America needs to get the southern border under control so more people don't die the way Georgia nursing student Laken Riley did.

"We want to bring that border under control and secure it so these people stop coming in," Biggs said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Then we can start taking care of deporting many people like this guy Jose Ibarra."

On Wednesday, Jose Ibarra was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of murdering Riley.

He was convicted on three counts of felony murder, one count of malice murder, one count of kidnapping with bodily injury, one count of aggravated assault with intent to rape and one “peeping Tom" count.

"If we can't start bringing those people to justice, I'll be very frustrated by that," Biggs said.

He added that he was glad Riley's family was getting justice but he was sure the verdict was a "small consolation" to them.

"There are many others who have been victimized by criminal illegal aliens," Biggs added.
