President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he would fire consultants James Blair and Chris LaCivita if their other clients presented a conflict of interest for him.

The comments follow reporting from the New York Times that the pair received funds to advise the pro-Russian Republika Srpska in Bosnia-Hercegovina. The Republika Srpska is an autonomous internal government inside

"Chris LaCivita and James Blair are outside consultants. They do not work for me, other than as outside consultants. They most likely have numerous clients, but for that, you would have to ask them," he posted on Truth Social. "They are allowed to do work for others, just like all consultants in Washington, D.C. I do not have any idea who else they work for but will, on reflection, ask them and, if there’s a conflict, I will terminate them, immediately!"

LaCivita was a co-campaign manager for Trump in 2024, while Blair served as White House deputy chief of staff until earlier this year, before he departed the administration to work on midterm campaigns.

Neither currently hold official positions with the administration.
