US government offers intel community free LGBT flag manicures for Pride month: Report
The document urged agents to participate in an assortment of events, and show that they are an "ally" for the LGBTQ community.
Officials in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence are encouraging members of the intelligence community to get free transgender flag manicures, and engage in other celebratory Pride events while on duty, according to a report from the Daily Wire.
The top intelligence agency, which overlooks the CIA, FBI, and the National Security Agency (NSA), highlighted nine events in June for LGBTQ pride month in a document, including manicures, crochet lessons in making a pride flag, and a lecture from a “Filipinx” activist on their story and non-binary identity.
The document urged agents to participate in the events, and show that they are an "ally" for the LGBTQ community.
“For nail painting, we’ll have our pro team of [Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance] artistes ready to decorate you for Pride Month, with the option of celebrating pride or trans flag colors,” the document said. “If you don’t normally paint your nails, or have never done so, all the better! We’ll do everything for you, and you might just love it. What better way to show your allyship to the community?”
The document was slammed by conservatives in Congress, who claimed that it is the latest example of how U.S. agencies have been high-jacked by woke policies, when the priorities should be on improving U.S. security.
“It just shows where this administration’s priorities continue to be, which is a virtue signal to the progressive Left, rather than staying focused on lethality, effective intelligence collection, and keeping America safe,” GOP Rep. Mike Waltz told the outlet. “It’s just a total misplacement of priorities, and it comes from the top, and it comes from highly politicized political appointees, by political appointees that are pushing an agenda.”
Other events included a discussion on the transgender movement throughout various generations, a "Walk with Pride," and a blog series where allies can comment on why they believe it's important to support the LGBTQ community.
