White House press secretary Jean-Pierre turned down offer to be EMILY'S List president: report
"I’m committed to the president," Jean-Pierre responded, according to sources. "I’m not going anywhere.”
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre turned down an offer to become president of EMILY's List, a group that donates money to Democratic female politicians who support abortions.
According to NBC News, a member on the board of the group called Jean-Pierre last year and offered her the position.
EMILY's List is currently being led by interim President Jessica Mackler.
Jean-Pierre reportedly said he did not want to leave her White House post.
The group's former president, Laphonza Butler, left to fill the Senate seat of the late- California Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Mackler is now expected to become the full time president.
