First lady Melania Trump on Wednesday announced that White House tours will open for the first time in her husband's second term later this month.
White House tours are open to the public, but must be reserved through the visitor's members of Congress at least one week in advance, and as far ahead as three months.
Trump said the tours will begin on Feb. 25, and will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
“The President and I are excited to reopen the White House to those interested in the extraordinary story of this iconic and beautiful landmark," the first lady said in a statement. "There is much to learn about the American Presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and our Nation’s rich history from a firsthand experience at the White House. This opportunity is unique among nations around the globe."
White House tours are free, and only certain areas of the White House are included in the self-guided tour, including the State Dining Room, the China Room, and the library. The Oval Office is not included.
