President Donald Trump on Tuesday afternoon participates in and speaks at a Diwali celebration at the White House.

Diwali, which technically occurred on Monday, is the Hindu festival of lights. The name is derived from the word “Deepavali,” meaning “a row of lights,” and the holiday is typically celebrated by socializing and exchanging gifts, per PBS.
