The U.S. Embassy in Moscow issued a security warning Saturday about a credible threat of a potential mass-casualty incident at a popular tourist destination in the Russian capital.

The alert identified the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve as the potential target and urged people to avoid the area on Oct. 31.

"The U.S. government is coordinating with appropriate Russian authorities on a response," the embassy said in its warning.

The embassy also advised people in Moscow to remain alert, avoid crowds and stay aware of their surroundings.
