Washington, D.C., Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser on Friday imposed a juvenile curfew in the nation's capital, following several disturbances involving large groups of young people.

The curfew will take effect at 11 p.m. and last through June 6. All those under the age of 18 will be subject to it.

"This order is an emergency tool that will address the next 15 days to preserve safety and protect peace in our community," she posted on X.

The move follows a recent incident at a Chipotle that saw a violent mob damage the facility. Other recent cases have seen law enforcement intervene to prevent large groups of teens from disrupting the Navy Yard area.
