The office of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israeli warplanes are carrying out strikes on Iran's infrastructure, ahead of President Donald Trump's vow to do so if the Iranian government fails to open the Strait of Harmuz by Tuesday night. 

The warplanes are targeting bridges and railways because Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is using them to transport materials to make weapons, according to the office, 

Netanyahu approved the strikes with Defense Minister Israel Katz and said they weren’t meant to target Iranian civilians but the government, according to the Associated Press. 

“This is no longer the same Iran, nor is it the same Israel," Netanyahu said. "We are changing the balance of power from one end to the other."

Trump has vowed to hit power plants and bridges, which has raised concerns about the U.S. hitting civilian targets and consequently committing war crimes.
