Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar's legal team wrote a letter to the Justice Department on Friday seeking the immediate return of the property that federal agents took from her home during a search by Homeland Security Investigations agents this week,

Her lawyers are arguing that the search was “neither justified nor lawful.”

The lawyers also said the raid was political and designed to go after a longtime political target of Republican President Donald Trump weeks before the midterm elections.
