Trump posts photos of 'trash island' D.C. golf course after court hearing
East Potomac Golf Course is one of several sites in the nation's capital that Trump has worked to restore since returning to the White House.
President Donald Trump this week posted a series of photos of trash and damage at East Potomac Golf Course, dubbing the site "trash island" after a court hearing that saw a federal judge decline to recuse herself from a case involving its renovation.
"Here are pictures of Trash Island for the Judge to study. This is just a small area, and better than some!" he posted on Truth Social, along with images of renovation work, felled trees, and stacked refuse.
"Collapsing Sea Wall — Very dangerous to one's health!" he posted in another.
Trump's posts followed U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes rejecting the government's request to recuse herself from a challenge by the D.C. Preservation League to the renovation effort.
East Potomac Golf Course is one of several sites in the nation's capital that Trump has worked to restore since returning to the White House.
He has also restored the fountains at Meridian Park and Union Station, gilded the equestrian statues on Arlington Bridge, renovated the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall, begun construction of the White House ballroom, and worked to revitalize the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Many of these projects have prompted litigation and become focal points for local opposition to the administration.
