Wyndham Clark nearly squandered a commanding lead but held off a hard-charging Sam Burns on Sunday to win his second U.S. Open golf title in four years.

Clark nearly suffered one of the biggest collapses in Open history at Shinnecock Hills, losing six strokes on the final day.

Burns shot 3-under par in a sizzling final round to make it interesting but had a setback on hole 15.
