A single ticket in Illinois won the $1.04 Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, according to game officials. 

The winning ticket was sold at a gas station in the city of Quincy, which is on the Mississippi River in the middle of the state, CBS News reported. 

The winning numbers were 4, 26, 66, 67 and 69, with a Powerball of 9.

The jackpot reached $1 billion soon after Monday's drawing failed to produce a winner. It's the eighth-largest Powerball grand prize in the game's history, and the 15th $1 billion prize in U.S. lottery history. 

The winner can choose a lump-sum payment of $450.5 million, or take 30 payments over 29 years that increase by 5% every year. The payments are before taxes. Wednesday's jackpot is the biggest of 2026.
