Embattled Florida GOP Rep. Cory Mills lost the Republican nomination Tuesday night for his House seat, despite support from President Donald Trump.

The race comes amid a House Ethics Committee investigation into the lawmaker, which is probing allegations that Mills misrepresented his military service, engaged in sexual misconduct, committed campaign finance violations and illicit involvement in federal contracts as a member of Congress, among other issues. He has denied all the allegations.

Former television journalist Ryan Elijah secured the Republican nomination over Mills in Florida’s 7th District, which is a district Trump carried by 12 percentage points in 2024.

Elijah had 46% of the GOP primary vote to 34% for Mills at the time of publishing, with 97% of the vote counted, according to the Associated Press.

Mills is now the 11th House member, consisting of seven Democrats and four Republicans, to lose a primary this year.
