Republican Mike Katz won the GOP primary Tuesday night to represent Delaware in the Senate and will now face off against incumbent Democratic Sen. Chris Coons in November.

The Associated Press called the race for Katz, a former state senator and doctor, at 8:18 p.m. Eastern with 74.4% of the vote and 23% of the votes counted. He defeated Army officer John Shulli, who had 25.6% of the vote at publishing time.

Coons, who was first elected to the Senate in 2010, defeated his slate of challengers with 83.4% of the vote. 

Delaware's primaries marked the final primaries of the 2026 Senate election cycle, where Republicans hope to maintain their majority while Democrats hope to flip control of both chambers. 

The pair will now face off in the general election on Nov. 3, 2026.
