Top Senate Democrat fundraisers Talarico, Ossoff team up for Hollywood event this week
The two rising Democratic stars are expected to co-headline an event in Los Angeles on Thursday, where the funds raised from the dinner will be split evenly between both campaigns.
Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff and Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico are set to campaign together at a star-studded Hollywood event this week.
They are expected to co-headline the dinner event Thursday and evenly split the donations between the campaigns.
Tickets for the event – “Two Visionaries, One Night" – run from $1,000 to $27,000, but the two lowest tiers are already sold out, according to the New York Times.
Osoff and Talarico are considered the two top Senate Democratic fund-raisers this election cycle, with Ossoff raising $77.3 million for his reelection campaign and Talarico raising $68.6 million for his campaign of win the seat now held by GOP Sen. Sen. John Cornyn, whom Paxton defeated in a primary.
The event will be hosted by Hollywood showrunner Shonda Rhimes; "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof and his wife, Heidi Lindelof.
Ossoff is expected to travel to the event after campaigning in the San Francisco Bay area on Wednesday, while Talarico will host counter programming events for the Republican midterm convention in Dallas through Wednesday.
The event is not the first time the pair have teamed up. They have also co-authored fundraising emails to their supporters, with Talarico urging voters to reelect Ossoff. The Georgian has described the joint campaign efforts as a fight against “some of the most powerful people in our country.”
“That’s exactly why I need James fighting alongside me in the U.S. Senate,” Ossoff wrote in one of the emails.
