Trump denies China, Russia aiding Iran: 'We would know about it'
"I see so many comments from the Radical Left Morons and Lunatics that China and Russia are helping the 'wonderful' Islamic Republic of Iran," Trump posted on Truth Social.
President Donald Trump this week denied claims that Russia and China were providing aid to Iran amid the ongoing conflict, saying that Washington would be aware of such activities.
"I see so many comments from the Radical Left Morons and Lunatics that China and Russia are helping the 'wonderful' Islamic Republic of Iran," Trump posted on Truth Social. "If they are, it’s at a very low level, but I don’t believe they are at all. They have too much to lose, and we would know about it, and know about it very fast! Thank you for your attention to this matter."
Trump has faced scrutiny over both his prosecution of the Iran war and his handling of the Ukraine war. In recent days, he announced an agreement with Russia to provide diesel fuel to global markets, hoping to stabilize prices ahead of the midterm elections.
That move drew considerable criticism for allegedly providing an economic lifeline to Moscow, especially amid claims that Russia was providing aid to Iran amid the conflict.
Iran, for its part, has been a major supplier of drones for Russia for use in its own invasion of Ukraine.
