A California man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2018 murder of a man camping in Malibu Creek State Park with his two young daughters.

Anthony Rauda was sentenced Wednesday after being found guilty of murdering Tristan Beaudette.

The jury found Rauda guilty of second-degree murder for Beaudette's death. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office stated that Rauda would get a total of 119 years to life in prison.

Beaudette was shot in the head by Rauda while out camping in a tent with his daughters on June 18, 2018, in the park, about 30 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.

Rauda was later taken into custody in a ravine park, according to CBS News.

Beaudette's daughters were 2- and 4-years-old at the time.

They were not injured in the shooting, but were considered victims of attempted murder.

After Beaudette's death, the park was closed off to campers and didn't allow them to use it until May 2019.
