Border patrol agent shot and killed during traffic stop in Vermont

Two suspects were in the car, and officials said that one of the suspects is dead.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent in Vermont was killed during a traffic stop Monday near the U.S.-Canada border. 

The shooting occurred at 3:15 local time in Coventry, Vermont, according to Fox News. Two suspects were in the car, and officials said that one of the suspects is dead. 

"Vermont State Police are supporting our federal partners,” Vermont Gov. Phil Scott told Fox. 

State police closed portions of Interstate 91, according to NBC News
