Border patrol seized over a ton of narcotics at one entry port in one month
Border patrol seized fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine
Agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection at a single port of entry seized over a ton of mixed narcotics worth millions of dollars in one month.
The agents, based at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego, California, seized the narcotics across 50 operations that uncovered 2,627.80 pounds of illicit substances in July, according to a CBP press release.
The haul included:
- Fentanyl – 173.91 pounds seized
- Heroin – 18.24 pounds seized
- Cocaine – 169.5 pounds seized
- Methamphetamine – 2,266.15 pounds seized
"Suspects involved in these incidents have been turned over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation," according to the release.
