Border patrol seizes over $260K in cocaine at border
Officers found nearly 35 pounds of cocaine bound for the U.S.
Officer of U.S. Customs and Border Protection this past weekend seized $263,500 worth of cocaine on Saturday at the U.S.–Mexico border, the agency said Tuesday.
The CBP found 13 packages containing cocaine weighing 34.17 pounds during a vehicle inspection at the Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission, Texas, according to the CBP announcement on the seizure.
CBP officers encountered a Honda SUV entering the U.S. from Mexico and sent the vehicle for a more rigorous secondary inspection. Non-intrusive inspection technology revealed the contraband.
CBP seized the vehicle and cocaine. Homeland Security Investigation arrested the drive and began a criminal investigation.
