Coast Guard offloads over 1100 pounds of cocaine seize in Caribbean
The Coast Guard and Royal Navy seized the cocaine valued at over $14 million
The Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier on Thursday overloaded over 1,115 pounds of cocaine valued at approximately $14.7 million.
The Coast Guard interdicted the cocaine in concert with the British Royal Navy. The interdiction occurred in the international waters of the Caribbean, with a Coast Guard law enforcement detachment stationed aboard the HMS Trent, according to a Coast Guard press release.
The Coast Guard also arrested three suspected smugglers who "will face prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico."
