Delaware trucker sentenced to more than 19 years in prison for plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Whitmer
Barry Croft Jr. received the longest sentence of any of the defendants in the conspiracy.
A Delaware trucker that prosecutors say was a co-leader in the plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was sentenced Wednesday to more than 19 years behind bars.
Barry Croft Jr. received the longest sentence of any of the defendants in the conspiracy, The Associated Press reported. Co-leader Adam Fox was sentenced to 16 years in prison on Wednesday.
Fox and Croft were convicted of conspiracy charges related to the plot to kidnap the Democratic governor during a retrial in August after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the original trial.
Three men earlier this month were sentenced to prison for assisting in the plot.
