Dozens of teens attack off-duty Marines on California beach over Memorial Day weekend
Footage shows two men on the ground in the fetal position trying to block kicks and punches.
Dozens of teenagers are seen on video viciously attacking off-duty Marines who said they had only asked the adolescents to stop lighting fireworks on a California beach.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Monday that it is investigating "an altercation at the San Clemente Pier involving several Marines and numerous juveniles and young adults" on Friday evening.
Shocking footage of the incident shows a teenager throw a punch at one of the victims before the brawl breaks out. The footage later shows two men on the ground in the fetal position trying to block kicks and punches.
People in the mob can be heard yelling offensive phrases such as "Get that f*****r! F**k that f****r up!" and "What’s good n****r."
Hunter Antonino, who identified himself to local KCAL News as a Marine who was attacked, said that he and the other victims were "stomped on" and "beat up" by the teenagers.
Antonino said he and his friends were enjoying time off for Memorial Day weekend and had only asked the teens to stop lighting fireworks after a piece of debris hit his face.
The mob had up to 40 teens, according to the New York Post. The attack stopped after a man and woman ran in and yelled for them to stop.
All of the victims refused medical treatment, law enforcement said.
