Elton John supports Kevin Spacey's testimony at actor's sexual assault trial
Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges, including sexual and indecent assault counts.
Elton John on Monday testified for the defense in Kevin Spacey's sexual assault trial as the actor faces allegations that he aggressively grabbed a man's crotch while driving to a event for the singer nearly two decades ago.
John testified briefly in the London court over video from Monaco after his husband, David Furnish, testified that Spacey did not attend their annual White Tie & Tiara Ball at the time the accuser said he was attacked.
The man said Spacey grabbed him with such force he nearly ran off the road as he drove to the event in 2004 or 2005.
Furnish said Spacey only appeared at the ball in 2001, supporting Spacey's own testimony.
Furnish said Spacey's appearance was memorable.
"He was an Oscar-winning actor and there was a lot of buzz and excitement that he was at the ball," he said.
Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges, including sexual and indecent assault counts.
