Former Louisville police detective Brett Hankinson has been acquitted on all three charges of felony wanton endangerment in the raid that ended in Breonna Taylor's death.

The Kentucky jury came back with their verdict after beginning deliberations earlier in the day Thursday, CNN reports.

When Hankison took the stand in his defense on Wendesday, he emotionally choked up as he defended his decision to open fire.

Taylor was shot and killed in her Louisville apartment in March 2020 after officers came into her apartment to conduct a raid to investigate a drug dealing operation.
