Florida dentist charged with orchestrating 2014 murder of brother-in-law

A Florida dentist this week was charged with hiring hitmen to murder his former brother-in-law in 2014 over a bitter divorce involing the former’s sister.

Charles Adelson hired two murderers to shoot his then-brother-in-law Daniel Markel in order to free Adelson’s sister from a joint custody arrangement, prosecutors alleged this week. 

Markel was shot in July of that year as he talked on his phone in his car. Prosecutors had already charged Adelson’s former girlfriend, Katherine Magbanua, with orchestrating the hit.

Authorities claim the pair paid Sigfredo Garcia, the father of Magbanua’s children, to murder Markel.
