Four killed in stabbing incident in Washington state

Deputies with the sheriff's office responded to reports Tuesday morning that a 32-year-old man was stabbing people outside a home in Pierce County, which came while deputies were en route to the house to deliver a no-contact order.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that four people were killed during a stabbing incident in Washington state. The suspect was also killed by law enforcement.

Deputies with the sheriff's office responded to reports Tuesday morning that a 32-year-old man was stabbing people outside a home in Pierce County, which came while deputies were en route to the house to deliver a no-contact order.

"Deputies received a copy of the order to serve on the male suspect, and while en route, multiple witnesses reported at 9:30am that a male was stabbing people outside the home," the sheriff's office said on Facebook. "A solo deputy arrived, and shots were reported at 9:33am.  

:There were four deceased individuals, including the 32-year-old male suspect, and a fifth victim was immediately transported by Gig Harbor Fire and later succumbed to their injuries," the office added. 

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team is leading the investigation into the incident. No motive for the stabbing was immediately clear.
