Fourth victim dies following Arkansas grocery store shooting

The suspect is expected to face four capital murder charges.

A fourth person died as a result of a shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, police said, as officials continue investigating the incident.

The fourth victim passed away Saturday evening following the shooting Friday, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.

The civilians who were killed in the shooting are Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, Shirley Taylor, 62, and Ellen Shrum, 81.

A total of 14 people, including two police officers and the suspect, were injured in the shooting Friday, police said. Four civilians remain hospitalized as of Saturday evening.

The suspect, Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg, is expected to face four capital murder charges, according to police. Posey sustained non-life-threatening injuries after he exchanged gunfire with police during the altercation at the store, police said.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the shooting, officials said.
