Second Shooting in Louisville: Community college 1 dead, 1 hurt, hours after downtown mass killing
Police have not connected the incident to the shooting that left five people dead and six injured in a bank in downtown Louisville several hours earlier.
Police said they are searching for suspects after a shooting Monday morning left one man dead and a woman injured at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Kentucky, hours after five people died in a mass shooting downtown.
The Louisville Metro Police Department said on Twitter that "the suspects fled prior to police arrival."
Police responded to a call of a shooting at the community college shortly after 11 a.m. local time, local outlet WLKY reported.
Neither the man who died nor the woman who was injured has been identified.
"We can confirm there was a shooting outside of the Technical Campus Building A, and there is no active aggressor on our campuses," the college said. "All Jefferson campuses are clear with the exception of the Technical Campus, which will remain on lockdown due to police protocol."
Police announced the incident does not appear to be connected to the shooting that left five people dead and six injured in a bank in downtown Louisville several hours earlier. The suspect in the bank shooting died at the scene, police said.
